Film Poster Sketches- Jess Smith

This was the first poster I drew and it was based on the idea that Amy (our protagonist) is shown in an extreame close up, eye leveld angle against the camera, with her sister Ashlee in the background. I wanted the Amy to be the centre of attention in the shot as she is the main character and I used this extrame close up to try a form a relationship, using eye contact with the viewers reading the poster. However I also wanted to include Ashlee as well becasue she is a very important character in the film, juxtaposing the fact that she is not as obvious on the poster. I also wrote the title in bold, capital letters to match with the bold image.
This is the second poster that I compleated and is my favourite. This is becasue I think it captures the close relationship between the two characters as they are standing so close together. I also love the setting with being on the edge of the pier, looking over the sea, sand and city in the distance becasue in my opinion it translates as being very peaceful and creates a comforting atmosphere. However others may have opposite opinions, which makes the poster more interesting if the audience can interpretate the image in their own ways. I think we can use the light beaming off the sea for this shot and make it really natural. I have used a softer, smaller font for this poster becasue I don't think it needs to be as bold becasue there are many other things to look at in this shot. For this poster I took inspiration from an image I found on google images (shown below). I used this as a frame becasue I loved the detail, yet simplicity of it.
