Editing decisions-
- Bedroom scene- ‘mum’ tells Amy to “hurry up”- recorded on a sound recorder- edited as off-screen diegetic dialogue by adjusting it to sound distant in the background
- Classroom scene- camera pans slightly- speed this up to shorten the duration of scene
- Classroom scene- Amy zones out- ‘teacher’ repeats her name continuously- the dialogue edited with a filter to make it sound distant and faded- symbolising her disassociating herself from everyone else
- Hallway scene- Amy calls Ashlee- you hear her voice in a voiceover recording that's off-screen- edited to sound like a voicemail recording- had to speed it up slightly so that the dialogue fit in the time frame before Amy started to speak again
- Editing the DSLR establishing shots- used a stabilisation filter
- Tracking shots whilst filming on the pier in Brighton- Added upbeat soundtrack called ‘Fun and Games’- this maintained a happy and vibrant atmosphere in the scene
- Scene at the train station where Amy’s walking with flowers- edited with a sad and slow background music to connote the mood- ‘sad piano walk 2’ by Oscar Collin- this is continued throughout the graveyard and flashbacks scenes as it sounded appropriate for the action taking place in each scene
