Final Film (re-edited)- Jess Smith

Changes made, due to audience feedback and our agreements:

1. cut bedroom scene down and added in more transitions- to make it less jumpy and slow

-removed the hazlewick sign- un-necessary

2. adjusted the sound in tracking shots- there was a big change from a quieter volume at the house to the tunnel shot, so I made it quitter to flow better

3. added cross dissolves instead of jump cuts when walking- the jump cuts were too quick and didn't fit as well as a cross dissolve did

4. made teacher voice louder- clearer for the audience

5. made first close-up of Amy in classroom shorter (made into 2 shots)- The shot was quite long and simple, so we cut it up into smaller sections and used two of them with a quick transition between them

6. taken away pan in classroom- un-necessary

7. made Ashlee's voice message louder- clearer to hear for the audience

8. fade to black between hallway and Brighton scene- this gave a clear separation between two different settings and atmospheres

9. lowered the Brighton soundtrack- less shocking and over the top

10. jump cuts on POV shots on the ride- not using transitions worked really well with these shots as they were meant to be quick and communicate the excitement in the characters

 

11. removed extra establishing shots in Brighton- un-necessary

12. made the dialogue louder/flow better on Brighton beach scene- this was the main negative audience feedback, therefore it was important that we adjusted the volume to make it clearer and fade in and out smoother

13. got rid of Hannah's end dialogue- we couldn't higher the volume of Hannah's dialogue and it was her sound that had the worst quality, so we all agreed it was better without it all together, however she wasn't saying anything vital for the storyline so it was ok to remove

14. removed walking to the beach- un-necessary

15. added transitions to beach shots of bird, pier and sea- this made the short establishing shots flow better all together

16. corrected the typo on the credits- we had accidentally previously spelt Hannah's name with 3 N's so we corrected this mistake

17. last shot fade to black to finish the film- this made the ending finish smoothly, compared to an abrupt cut
