Editing Experience by Maria Beardall

Editing consisted of many stages, techniques and new experiments.

We looked at using Final Cut Pro to:

- order our downloaded work into a group folder
- convert new footage and place it into a file on the network; accessible on any computer once on there
- ordering our different location work into bins on final cut pro
- making sequences to separate location work to add together once edited

- trying different transitions to match work such as cross dissolves, fade to black etc.
- replacing audio accurately with separately recorded audio, matching correctly using markers and finding audio peaks manually
- increasing or decreasing audio
- cutting sections of footage and changing speed
- cutting sections of footage to create ellipsis
- fading of footage and audio
- sound bridges used as transitions effectively
- manipulating audio to sound stronger or in another room
- continuity checked to seem realistic and more immersive
- filtering of flashback sequence to make prominent and appropriate

-  appropriate, non copyrighted music to fit establishing shots and sequences

- adding in appropriate title sequence, in time with music, durations matched, and fonts clear and consistent
